Conserving Energy
- A great way to save energy is to insulate well, so we did that!
- A major place where a building can lose air is through their windows and doors, so we used all insulated double low-e argon gas filled windows and doors.
- We incorporated Solar Panels for using the sun’s rays to provide renewable energy for the Club House.
- Every unit has a high efficiency heating and air condition system (50% Savings over standard systems!) and programmable thermostats. By simply setting your programmable thermostat to a lower temp in the cold season while you’re sleeping and when you’re not at home you cans save tons of energy…
- eko’s toilets are Dual Flush (Not what you think) Dual Flush toilets provide significant water savings by having two flush options: One for liquids and one for solids.
- All appliances at EP are Energy Star rated. Did you know that by using these we use 25% less energy storing food and washing dishes at EP than other apartment communities?
- We use all florescent lights because these bulbs use 75% less electricity.
- The roof system and window placement at eko Joes Coffee Shop maximizes natural light so we save energy by minimizing the use of lights during the day.
